About Botnaru Petru

This is how Botnaru is a Changemaker:
NGO “Terra - 1530” has been recorded with number 02 on the 30 of June 1999 at the Vorniceni mayoralty, Straseni district, Republic of Moldova. Mission: Sustainable Development of rural localities: the setting up of an informative centre consisting of: a periodical – Adevarul (Truth), local television; to strengthen the associative sector in the rural places; the preparation of the public to take decisions concerning the environment etc. Activities: we publish the independent periodical “Adevarul”; each year in December we organise the Forum of the rural NGO-s.

The place for which Botnaru feels a fondness or connection:
Drinking water crisis is a present day’s problem especially for Republic of Moldova, mostly for the rural localities, which represents more than a half of country’s population. Only 17 of them have aqueducts 67% of which are in a miserable situation and don’t fit the hygiene standard. The populations in the rest of the rural localities make their water supply from wells and springs, the majority of which are polluted with pathological bacteria. The first step to create The Moldovan Network of Rural Volunteering Centers for Water was done in 2003 – after The U.S. Embassy in Republic of Moldova financed the project “Together”. After this followed the project “Ecological Voluntary Center” that at start was National and nowadays it includes three villages: Vorniceni, Lozova, Galesti etc. Project purpose and objectives Spreading The Moldovan Network of Rural Volunteering Centers for Water in less than 100 rural localities from Republic of Moldova. Objectives: consolidate partnership with Local Public Administration, business, NGOs to resolve problem construction of centralized water supply systems; to create an European/International Rural Water Volunteering Centers’ Network; develop of rural associative sector (Association of Water Consumers).

The change Botnaru passionately wants to happen:
Last events like inundations in different countries proved that a lot of people are not ready how to action in this situations. The mission of a The Moldovan Network of Rural Volunteering Centers for Water is to give a hand to persons who need help in such situations through being near them. Good volunteers have to know how they can give a medical help, to participate to annihilate the calamities consequence etc.
