About David Bacon

This is how David is a Changemaker:
I founded Carpets for Communities in Cambodia. www.carpetsforcommunities.org - - I'm committed to creating positive change and to scaling those changes as much as possible. Specifically I am interested in setting up Social Enterprises and Social Businesses. - - My friends founded www.givle.com, a Google search that donates 100% to charity - With the first $10,000 to got to CfC! Change your home page now!

The place for which David feels a fondness or connection:
Cambodia, Thailand, Laos. I love South East Asia and the people there. I feel much more at home around the poor villagers i meet and work with than i do in developed cities. Maybe things are just simpler there...

The change David passionately wants to happen:
Human potential and happiness is what i'm passionate about. Injustice, abuse of power (in all forms) and apathy are what make me angry enough to fight! I want to help create opportunities for as many people as possible to step out of their constraints in life and to realise their potential and lead happy and fulfilling lives. To do this in poor communities you first have to address poverty. Solving poverty will lead to the End of Human Sex Trafficking, Child prostitution and Child labour and to Education for All. I see these as crucial first steps. On a global scale i see the key solution as the full integration of the business sector into the not for profit and development sectors so that their economic engines are driving development benefits and opportunities for poor communities.
