I did environmental services at university a long time before environment was the serious global issue that it is today. Even then (and I am talking about 20 years ago - showing my age!) climate change was already known about by the world of science. I then qualified and worked as an environmental lawyer in the City of London. A great discipline to have learnt - law. And I never really set out to be a partner in a great law firm. In the end my ''heart'' was not in it and I ''shifted'' to working nearly 12 years ago for Nike. In the first years working on establishing the systems and processes to ensure that we were in compliance with European laws relating to Nike products, packaging and operations. At Nike it has been a long and amazing journey of continuous development. Today I lead the partnerships and strategies for our community investment strategies and cross sectoral partnerships in France, Italy, Germany, Netherlands and Belgium. I am also responsible for driving generation II strategies for how we leverage the passion, energy and skills of Nike employees in our community giving programmes. The Designers on Mission project was one project that was nominated for a global employee award in 2005.
