This is how Constance is a Changemaker:
I am the president of the local chapter of a volunteer organization called Exceptional People. We work to provide volunteers for community organizations that benefit children and the disabled. In addition, we provide prevention education and awareness to specific employers in the greater Phoenix area.
Also, I am co-founder of www.EvansSyndrome.net, a site created to raise awareness of the symptoms and treatment of the autoimmune illness, Evans Syndrome.
Last, I am Creative Director of Tapioca Twilight Media, working to help children and adults with autism, ADHD, and other disorders that cause difficulty in how the brain works and learns.
The place for which Constance feels a fondness or connection:
Standing there, looking out across the abyss, I can see layer after layer of time unfolding before my eyes. Deep within the chasm, rapids periodically writhe, using the river's power to craft and mold the Canyon floor. The sun blazes with all his glory as he slowly slides over the horizon, leaving traces of his beauty in flares of color across desert sky. Grand Canyon holds my spirit in her vast bosom, drawing me ever inward until I have become a new creature, one with the sky, the river, the rock, the earth.
The change Constance passionately wants to happen:
I would like to see the defeat of autoimmune illnesses such as diabetes, lupus, ITP, and so on. Great strides have been made to combat these types of illnesses, especially in the areas of gene and stem cell research, but so much more needs to be done. With work, dedication, and financial support, we will indeed see the end of autoimmune illnesses.
