About Chris Lunch
This is how Chris is a Changemaker:

The change Chris passionately wants to happen: Bio
After graduating in Anthropology from Oxford University Chris worked as a social researcher working with semi-nomadic shepherds in Central Asia. He soon started to feel frustrated with the whole academic approach to learning and understanding. The extractive research methods used produced long reports yet no obvious impact or change. Chris was motivated to find a better way to do this, but how? He wanted the shepherds to be able to analyse their situation themselves and share their knowledge and visons directly rather than via his notebook.
Chris started to adapt PV methods that were being used in a western educational context to this new research/development context, drawing from various participatory methodologies and inventing new games and excercises. The results in Central asia exceeded his expectations, so much positive energy was generated and powerful local impacts, as well as strong approval from the communites themselves.
Chris continued to develop and refine these methods in many different contexts and countries around the world, working together with his brother Nick and a growing team of dedicated PV facilitators. Now Chris has been inspired by the energy within the Sport for Change movement and again can see ways in which he hopes to be able to contribute in a unique way to enhance the great work being done on the ground.
