What makes your idea unique and different than others doing work in the field? - THE IDEA IS TO USE SPORTS, IN THIS CASE SOCCER, TO GET YOUTHS OFF THE STREETS AND AWAY FROM CRIME, THE DIFFERENCE IS THAT HERE AT REAL FUTEBOL MIRIM WE USE THE WORD FAMILY CARE WHICH MANY YOUTHS DO NOT HAVE AT HOME.

What are the existing barriers, the biggest problem, your innovation is hoping to address/change? - THE BIGGEST PROBLEM IS THAT YOUTHS WHO ARE DRUG USERS COME TO THE PROJECT, AND WITHOUT FINANCIAL SUPPORT IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO RECOVER THEM. BUT EVEN SO WE TRY. BUT IT IS A TOUGH BATTLE.

Delivery Model: How do you implement your innovation and apply it to the challenge/problem you are addressing? - WE ARE ALREADY APPLYING IT SINCE 1994. WE HAVE BEEN OFFERING THIS PROJECT FOR 13 YEARS AND WE CAN SAY THAT THROUGH SPORTS WE HAVE SAVED SEVERAL LIVES, BY SEPARATING THEM FROM DRUGS AND CRIME.

How do you plan to grow your innovation? - OUR PROJECT IS UNDERWAY AND WE HAVE ANOTHER UNDER DEVELOPMENT THAT WILL REACH APPROXIMATELY 3500 YOUTHS AND INDIRECTLY 8000 PEOPLE (FAMILY MEMBERS)

Exactly who are the beneficiaries? - THE IMPACT WE’VE HAD, I BELIEVE IT IS TO HAVE TAKEN THE HUNDREDS OF YOUTHS AND KIDS THAT HAVE BEEN WITH US AWAY FROM DRUGS AND SAVED THEM FROM DEATH. HERE WE DISTRIBUTE FOOD STAPLES WHICH LEADS MANY YOUTHS TO USE SPORTS AS A MEANS FOR FAMILY SURVIVAL AND WE HOPE TO CONTINUE THIS WORK.

Tell us your story. - WELL, THE ORIGIN OF OUR WORK HAPPENED IN 1994, WHEN THROUGH THE FUTEBOL REAL MIRIM PROJECT CAME A YOUTH OF 12 YEARS OF AGE WHOSE PARENTS HAD ALREADY GIVEN UP BECAUSE HE WAS TOTALLY DEPENDENT, HE USED COCAINE, AND THROUGH OUR WORK WE WERE ABLE TO RECOVER HIM AND THUS WAS HOW OUR STRENGTH WAS BORN WHICH WE HAVE TO THIS DAY AND WE HAVE RECOVERED SEVERAL YOUTHS.
